The Wine cellars located at Wine Cellar Park were used to store wine in the aging process and operated for several years . Purchased by The City of Dunbar WV around 1974, the Wine Cellars listed on the “National Register of Historic Places” are now part of Dunbar West Virginia’s Wine Cellar Park.
The Three Wine cellars built around the 1850 time period were originaly named the “Dutch Hollow Wine Cellars” are made up of large stone vaults almost 15 tall high at center and two feet thick.
Wine Cellar Park features many shelters. The largest shelter offers a large fireplace with a grill and lots of space at several picnic tables. The two smaller shelters with two picnic tables at each shelter, a rustic playground, lake and a scenic walking trail. Please 304-766-0243 for rental information and further details.
Anderson Lake at Wine Cellar Park is stocked with trout yearly offers the novice or accomplished angler a great fishing oppertunity in a beautiful natural sceen. The lake has a handicapped accessible road.
