Saint Albans Roadside Park provided for public use by the City of Saint Albans West Virginia, it is operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The St. Albans Roadside Park is located InKanawha County West Virginia on US Route 60 (MacCorkle Avenue), along the banks of the historic Kanawha River.
This multi use facility is home to many activities and amenities for those seeking outdoor recreation. The highlights include, Paved Parking, Monuments, Picnic spots and much more.
Picnic shelters are available for all with accommodations for the physically challenged along with playground equipment.
Roadside Park features Boating facilities that are provided with a ramp and a dock for fishing or launching smaller craft pleasure boats.
Overnight Camping sites are available, spaces are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Limited to a 2 nights only within a 15 day period. Dumping station and water are available.
Historical Morgan’s Kitchen
Morgan’s Kitchen a log structures from the 1840’s Plantation era, originally located at Morgan’s Plantation in nearby Putnam County. It was used to serve meals as well as serving as a hospital to the wounded Union soldiers during the Civil War at the battle of Scary Creek. Morgan’s Kitchen was built by John Morgan Jr., Mr. Morgan purchased his land from George Washington’s physician, James Craik. He later established Morgan’s Museum which originally was located on Morgan’s farm and is now located at the State Farm Museum at Mason County Fairgrounds. The Morgan’s Kitchen was donated to St. Albans and moved to this site in 1972 by the newly established St. Albans Historical Society.
